This is a replica of the USN M-421A summer flight jacket.
The USN M-421A summer flight jacket was the standard summer flight jacket for Navy and Marine Corps pilots in the Pacific during World War II, serving from 1939 to 1943 as a successor to the 37J1, a flight jacket designed for use in hot climates.
The jacket is made of combed twill with a natural gloss finish and features a nickel-plated Talon #5 zipper, cowhide side, and vintage bottom stop. The slightly curved sleeve body is cut, and the triangular cut under the arm and the pleats on the back make it easier to move. The slightly closed waist and hem make for a crisp bomber jacket.
